Our Story

ViKa was born from a simple yet powerful conversation between two individuals who shared more than just a train station—they shared a vision.

Vishwa and Kashish first crossed paths during their daily commutes, exchanging smiles before eventually striking up a conversation. As they spoke, they discovered striking parallels in their journeys—from their roots in India to their careers in mental health. What began as a casual exchange soon evolved into a shared mission: to create a counseling practice that makes therapy accessible, stigma-free, and empowering.

The Essence Behind 'ViKa': A Fusion of Soul and Energy

At ViKa Counselling, our name is a harmonious blend of the founders' names—Vi'shwa and Ka'shish—and carries profound significance. In ancient Egyptian belief, the 'Ka' represents one's vital essence or life force, distinguishing the living from the deceased.  Similarly, in Japanese philosophy, 'Ka' denotes 'fire', symbolizing energy and passion.Combining 'Vi', which resonates with the concept of the soul in various cultures, with 'Ka', we encapsulate the holistic approach of our counselling services—addressing both the spiritual and energetic aspects of well-being. This fusion reflects our commitment to nurturing both the soul and the energy within each individual.​
